Jason Spindler was Co-Founder, CEO and Managing Director of I-DEV International from 2009 to 2019. A former 9/11 survivor and respondent, US Peace Corps Volunteer, Catherine B. Reynolds Fellow for Social Entrepreneurship and Helton Human Rights Fellow, Jason was committed to public service, strengthening emerging economies and helping local companies access the capital and resources required to scale. Jason was also a well respected thought leader in the impact investing, emerging markets venture capital and private equity, Africa technology and international development sectors.
On January 15, 2019, we lost Jason to the terrorist attack at 14 Riverside in Nairobi, Kenya, where I-DEV's Africa office was based. Fortunately, the rest of the I-DEV Africa team was safely evacuated due to the heroic efforts of our partners at Metta Nairobi and the Kenya security forces.
While Jason was lost, his memory, ambition and focus on impact will not be forgotten. The I-DEV team is committed to realizing Jason's boldest vision and dreams.
