Implementation Director, Peru
Victor Quiroz is the Implementation Director for I-DEV International. Prior to joining I-Dev, Victor managed and later advised the Asociación de Productores de Tara de San Marcos (APTSM), a profit-oriented farmers’ organization operating in the Northern Highlands of Peru. By its second year, Victor, grew the start-up organization to over a million dollars in annual revenues. He now advises the group on operations and strategic management issues.
Prior to APTSM, Victor served as the Director of Commercialization and Marketing for Asociación Civil Tierra (ACT), a Peruvian based development organization working to create sustainable, for profit agro-industrial organizations in rural Cajamarca. He also coordinated and managed ACT’s supply chain network, and served as the lead agricultural expert for the NGO’s tara cultivation program.
Victor was born and raised in a small village in rural Cajamarca. He earned his degree in Agriculture from the Instituto Tecnológico de San Marcos, in Cajamarca, Peru. He brings a depth of experience in agriculture, rural supply chain design and management, and development implementation. He has a grounded and highly contextualized understanding of the many challenges, and potential impacts, of development programs. This insight and firsthand knowledge of the challenges and problems faced by rural farmers on a day to day basis, makes him uniquely qualified to serve as I-DEV’s Implementation Director. His grass-roots perspective, combined with his management and operations experience, make him an invaluable member of the I-Dev team.
