New York Director
Patricia Chin-Sweeney is the New York Director for I-DEV International. In addition to managing I-DEV’s New York operations, Patricia oversees I-DEV’s Insight services, which includes market analysis and industry research. She has also led a number of in-field project initiatives to identify new business and investment opportunities. During her two years at I-DEV International, she has lived in Peru, Costa Rica and New York.
Patricia brings years of experience in the investment banking, management consulting, and non-profit management to the I-DEV team. Her areas of expertise include strategic alliances, mergers & acquisitions, corporate social responsibility and executive management. Prior to I-DEV, Patricia worked for the Environmental Financial Consulting Group (EFCG), the leading boutique investment bank and financial consultancy to the architecture/engineering/environmental consulting sector. There, she spearheaded the launch of several new consulting tools and an industry-wide initiative, addressing corporate social responsibility and sustainability best practices.
Patricia received her undergraduate degree in Environmental Science from Barnard, the Women’s College of Columbia University, and her Masters in Business Administration from New York University’s Stern School of Business and INCAE- Costa Rica. Her MBA studies focused on Social Entrepreneurship & Impact, Global Business and Corporate Social Responsibility.
Patricia is recognized as a rising woman leader by the Susan Schiffer Stautberg Women’s Leadership Fellowship, a subset of the prestigious Belizean Grove. She serves on the President’s Roundtable of Wildlife Trust, a research organization focused on the links between human health, ecosystem health, and animal health. She has also served on the boards of Young Professionals in Energy (YPE), a national organization for professionals interested in traditional energy and clean technology, the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance, and ThinkQuest NYC, a non-profit organization that exposes under-privileged kids to creativity and self-expression through digital media.
Patricia is a strong believer in the greater synergies and benefits that arise from partnerships between the for- and non-profit worlds and feels fortunate to play an active role in bringing these different parties together.
