Alex Marquez is a Founding Partner of I-DEV International and currently serves as I-DEV’s special advisor for brand strategy, marketing and innovation. He is also the founder of PropellerFish (www.propellerfish.com), an international strategy and innovation consulting firm.
Over the past decade, Alex has worked with multinational, governments and Fortune 500 corporations on brand strategy and innovation in over 20 countries across 4 continents. At the start of his career, Alex spent five years as a strategist at top tier New York advertising agencies including J. Walter Thompson and Kirshenbaum Bond and Partners, advising blue chip clients on brand and communication issues.
In 2005, he left advertising to help ?What If! Innovation, a UK-based consulting firm, establish its first office in the United States. After launching their New York office, he moved to ?What If!’s headquarters in London to take on more global projects. In his time there, he advised clients such as Samsung, Pepsi, Moet Hennessy, Shell, Unilever, AstraZeneca, and the Royal Sun Alliance on new product development and strategy issues around the world. Much of this work was focused on developing products and strategies for entering new and emerging markets around the world.
A firm believer that commerce can bring about positive change in the world, his work with I-Dev is focused on revolutionizing the way corporations and development organizations bring about meaningful change in the world.
